A clearer starting point for residential roofing

Know which details matter before you request a contractor consultation.

Three things worth understanding

01

Repair or replace?

A localized leak may be repairable, but recurring failure, widespread shingle wear and compromised decking can mean a larger scope than a single repair. At a site visit we look at the roof and quote the repair you ask about, and a replacement estimate if you ask for one.

02

Roof anatomy that matters

Flashing, valleys, roof-to-wall transitions, underlayment, ventilation and the deck all affect roof performance. A complete replacement scope should identify these components instead of relying solely on a per-square shingle price.

03

What your consultation covers

Tell us about age, leak locations, storm history and interior staining. At a site visit we photograph the accessible repair area and provide a written estimate for the work you ask about; pricing follows a site visit.

Common questions

Is a roof leak always a replacement?

No. Whether a repair is reasonable depends on the roof's overall condition, the leak source and the reliability of a repair.

Can you provide a repair estimate for storm damage?

Yes. We take dated photos of the visible damage and provide a written repair estimate. Your insurer determines coverage.

Do you quote without seeing the roof?

A written scope may require on-site measurements and a consultation. We won't pretend a generic price is a complete estimate.

These notes are educational; a site visit and written scope establish the applicable conditions and terms.
